Project summary
Sector: Science, Technology and Innovation
Country location: Australia, Republic of Korea
Grantee: The University of Sydney
Project Description
Korea is globally known as an advanced country in technology and digital information, which has created an impact in agriculture, and agricultural information technology. Similarly, Australia has been leading in digital and computer technology for farming. The Australian Farm Institute recently highlighted how digital technology was "fundamentally changing agriculture", away from skills-based management to a more industrialised model, where decisions are based on objective data.
This project will share technology development that allow delivery of accurate soil and climate information to farmer that enable them to manage their farm profitably. While Australian scientists pioneered in the soil mapping and soil sensing technology, it lacks the knowledge of software and data delivery which the Korean counterpart excels. This project will allow information transfer between the two counterparts.
