Project summary
Sector: Arts and Culture
Country location: Australia, Republic of Korea
Grantee: RMIT University
Project Description
This bilateral exchange is focused on building an increased cultural understanding of Australia and Korea using the medium of poetry. While abroad, poets will work both individually and as a delegation to conduct a series of workshops and public lectures to student groups enrolled with the key institutions (RMIT, Deakin, Sogang universities), as well as more broadly contribute within networks around Seoul and Melbourne. Poets from Melbourne and Seoul will also engage in collaborative poetry writing workshops with one another in the two urban locations, and will perform both individually and as a group at cultural venues including The Wheeler Centre (Melbourne) and Yeonhui Arts Space (Seoul). This will deepen and strengthen the existing relationships between the universities and these cultural centres within each city.
