Project description

Digital technology-based approaches to teacher professional development (DTPD) are growing internationally through using the Internet for teachers' professional development providing significant advantages such as cost-effectiveness, scope and reach. The Indonesian Ministry of Education (MoE) through Centres for Development and Empowerment of Educators and Education Personnel (P4TKs) are increasingly using Internet-based teachers' professional development. Additionally, Indonesian universities are exploring the use of digital technologies supporting student learning. The project has a pedagogical-technological focus on successful DTPD including inquiry-based learning, critical thinking and problem-solving. Participants in the project are experienced Indonesian practitioners in DTPD. Through sharing experiences participants will build and extend their knowledge and skills of developing and implementing DTPD. Together they will build a community of professional practice. These activities will be achieved through Indonesian based workshops and online collaboration. The outputs will provide training, manuals and advice, and peer-reviewed research publications including a five day workshop in Jakarta.
