Australia's reputation as a must-see tourist destination will receive a boost thanks to the Lonely Planet's 'Best in Travel' lists ranking Australia among the top 10 countries in the world.
Senator Richard Colbeck, Minister for Tourism and International Education, welcomed Australia's listing as the sixth best place to visit on the Lonely Planet's 'Best Countries' list for 2016.
"We already know that Australia has a world-class tourism offering and it is rewarding to see this recognised by a popular international travel guide. The decisions are made based on topicality, excitement, value and that special x-factor – it's good to see Australia ticking all those boxes," Senator Colbeck said.
