Emma Hack Solo Exhibition

Project summary

Sector: Arts and Culture
Country: Republic of Korea
Grantee: Savina Musuem of Contemporary Art

Project Description

Emma Hack is well-known artist in Australia and has earned international fame for camouflage art after she had worked with Gotye's music video "Somebody that I used to know" in 2011. Emma's artworks harmonize a human body with surroundings using body as a canvas. Emma took the idea of camouflage that is at the root of her work from nature, fashion, and textile design and recreated it on her own way. In this exhibition, Hack shows forty-nine major works covering the earlier works to the most recent works. Emma's 10 hours long hand-painted camouflage art becomes finally completed as a photograph. We hope that through this exhibition many Koreans experience first-hand as they love photography and art in general. We firmly believe that regardless age and sex, her paintings, photography and performance show harmony between humans and nature.
