Project Description

Brisbane Festival is an inclusive festival programming performances that resonate with the city's diverse communities. Chef: Come Dine with Us! extends and deepens the Festival's relationship with South Korea, its artists and cultural organisations and the Korean and broader communities in Brisbane.

The show was created by Seoul-based Persona Inc., and has been toured around the world by AtoBIZ (another Seoul based production house). Chef will make their Australian debut as part of the 2017 Festival opening weekend offerings.

The basis of the work is the current global obsession with cooking shows. Two multi-talented chefs (also comedians, extraordinary beatboxers and tenors) along with four energetic and acrobatic assistant chefs, compete to create and present a host of dishes to a fully engaged audience. The ultimate winner is decided by an audience member who indulges on a serving of Bimbim-bap.
