Invitation to travel 20th anniversary of Bali bombings

The Foreign Minister has issued a media release about commemorative services to mark the 20th anniversary of the 2002 Bali bombings.

We invite those who wish to mark the tragic events of 2002 to a memorial service at Parliament House in Canberra on 12 October 2022. The event will commence at 10am (AEDT), with doors opening from 9.00am.

A smaller commemorative ceremony will be held in Bali at 8am (WITA) on 12 October 2022 at the Australian Consulate-General, (Jalan Tantular, No. 32, Renon, Denpasar).

Assistance with travel

The Australian Government will support survivors, families of victims and first responders to attend either service, including through the provision of a travel assistance payment for eligible Australians. The travel assistance payment will be processed by Services Australia. For more information please go to Services Australia’s website and download the claim form [PDF]. You must register for either the Canberra or Bali event ahead of submitting your claim to Services Australia.
