Drug resistant TB and malaria pose a threat to health security in our region and carry a high burden for our Indo-Pacific neighbours. More than half of all global TB cases occur in our region, and it kills more people in Papua New Guinea than any other infectious disease.
The Australian Government is committed to advancing research and science in Australia and bolstering our health security. We are also working to build strong and resilient health systems across the Indo-Pacific to help combat these devastating diseases and build a healthier, safer and more secure region.
