A new Australian government supported strategy to publicise the aid program initiatives in Kiribati has been launched as part of a forum attended by aid development partners across the Pacific.
The strategy, 'Reitaki – Partnership in Profile', will use a range of new media technologies, including a DVD series, to highlight the programs and the people they are helping.
The first DVD includes two stories. The first story is about the Language Education Pilot Project, and looks at the Pilot's successes in improving the English language skills of teachers in Kiribati over a one year period. The story includes interviews with teachers involved in the Pilot.
The second story features the Marine Training Centre and its success over 40 years in providing the young people of Kiribati opportunities for employment in the international shipping industry.
Both stories are available on AusAID's YouTube website.
