The Australian Government has provided:
More than $20 million in response to the Nepal earthquake.
More than $10 million in lifesaving humanitarian support.
$1 million
to the Australian Red Cross to provide critical first aid and distribute lifesaving relief supplies.
$4.5 million
to the Nepal Flash Appeals,
including $1 million to the World Health Organisation and $1 million to the International Federation of the Red Cross to meet urgent health and shelter needs.
$4 million
to Australian NGOs to deliver water, sanitation, shelter and programs to target the needs of women and children.
$500,000
to RedR Australia to deploy Australian humanitarian experts to support United Nations operations.
$50,000
to support maternal and child health through the SPRINT initiative.
Humanitarian relief for up to 10,000 people in the areas of shelter, water and hygiene, and DFAT personnel to assist with coordination and assessments.
$10 million to support early recovery efforts in:
- Livelihoods
- Community Participation
- Education
