AGAAR member Mrs Di Fleming was recently in Mauritius to celebrate the launch of Ducere's latest collection of children's stories. The Mauritian Golden Jubilee Collection was launched by the Minister of Education and Human Resources, Tertiary Education and Scientific Research, the Honourable Mrs. Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, as part of the opening of Australia Week in Mauritius, with the support of HE Jenny Dee, High Commissioner to Mauritius.
Operating in 23 African countries, the Ducere Foundation has published 53 collections of African children's stories, reaching over 37,000 children and printing and distributing over 375,000 hard copy books by more than 670 authors.
Ducere's goal is to capture, publish and distribute African children's stories from the 54 African nations by 2024, with over 1,600 authors published, 2,000,000 books printed and distributed to schools and every collection available as e-books across the globe.
