Australian Civilian Corps Register capability

Category
Development

The Australian Civilian Corps (ACC) register has over 385 members with extensive experience in a range of priority areas including health administration, law and justice, education, financial management and electoral assistance. More importantly, these members have been selected for their ability to work in complex and challenging environments, to engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders, being team players and their resilience. Emily is one such example.

As a Darwin-based health administration specialist, with a Masters in Public Health, Emily has extensive experience working in remote Indigenous communities in Australia.

Emily is employed by the Department of Education and Training in the Northern Territory and works with indigenous communities, government and non-government agencies to ensure better outcomes for children and their families.

'A major part of what I do is working with remote and disadvantaged communities and the issues we deal with are similar to places where ACC register members may be deployed,' Emily said.

'The greatest parallel between my work and the work of the ACC is my role in capacity building of individuals, community groups, professionals and organisations, within a cross cultural setting.'

Emily's skills in health administration are in high demand and AusAID is pleased to have her on the Australian Civilian Corps register.
