The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Annual Report for 2011-2012 was tabled in Parliament. The Annual Report serves to inform Parliament, other stakeholders, educational institutions, the media and general public about the performance of the department across the range of its responsibilities over the last year.

The department and the Australia-Indonesia Institute invite applications by 1 November for the Elizabeth O'Neill Journalism Award. The Award is open to high achieving early or mid-career journalists.

Minister Emerson met Trade and Economic Minister Zafer Çağlayan during his visit to the Republic of Turkey.
