Australia's trade with the Americas, East Asia and Europe 2012

Combined, the Americas, Europe and East Asia accounted for 82 per cent of Australia's international trade, valued at almost $500 billion in 2011, according to new figures released by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade today.

Albanian Foreign Minister visits Australia

Foreign Minister Bob Carr today welcomed the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Albania, His Excellency Professor Edmond Panariti, to Australia.
Professor Panariti's visit is his first to the region as Foreign Minister and the first to Australia by a member of the Albanian Government.

Bali Memorial Services

The Australian Government will hold memorial services in Canberra and Bali on 12 October 2012 to mark the tenth anniversary of the first Bali bombings.
The memorial services will be open to members of the public and all Australians and other nationals are welcome to attend. Volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of the tragedy are particularly welcome.

Visit to Israel

Senator Carr met with Israel's Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem.
Discussions included Australia-Israel economic relations including resources and energy, regional security, and developments in Syria and Egypt.
Both Ministers also noted their concerns at Iran's ongoing nuclear program.
