Consular Travel Advice - Iraq

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has reviewed its Travel Advice for Iraq issued on 22 August 1994 and reiterates that due to the uncertain conditions in Iraq, Australians should defer non-essential travel to that country.

The Department urges Australians intending to travel to Iraq for essential reasons to keep abreast of developments through the media and to register their presence in Iraq with the Australian Embassy in Jordan, between 4th and 5th Circles, Zahran Street, Jabel Amman, Amman, Telephone (962) (6) 673246 or 673247, Facsimile (962) (6) 673260.
