MEDIA RELEASE

The Australian Government will fund a study to help Fiji increase taxation
revenue, the Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mrs Chris Gallus, said
today in Suva.

The four week A$20,000 study will examine ways to improve the integrity of
data within the Fijian Companies Office.

'Increased taxation revenue will help the Fiji Government deliver essential
services, such as health and education, and highlights the importance of good
governance, including strong economic and financial management, in alleviating
poverty,' Mrs Gallus said.
