Airport facilitation request

The Australian Government offers airport facilitation as a diplomatic privilege for certain eligible foreign visitors, please refer to:

• Protocol Guidelines – Chapter 14 – Airport information including facilitation for head of Canberra-based diplomatic mission (first arrival and final departure) and non-resident head of diplomatic mission on arrival and departure for credentials presentation
• Protocol Guidelines – Chapter 15 – Airport facilitation for visiting heads of state, heads of government, foreign and trade ministers and guests of government

Please submit requests at least five working days before the visitor's arrival in Australia. Protocol Branch can't guarantee facilitation for requests at short notice. Call the Protocol Branch emergency duty officer outside of business hours on 0418 167 127 to notify any urgent changes.

For all other visiting foreign dignitaries, missions may like to consider utilising a commercial supplier of ‘VIP meet and greet services’ which operate at many Australian airports, please see Chapter 14.
