DFAT is planning to approach the market for a managing contractor to implement Phase 4 of the Laos Australia Institute program (LAI 4) – a DFAT-led investment focused on delivering Laos’ Australia Awards scholarship program and human resources development (HRD) activities.
LAI 4 builds on over 10 years of HRD investment, and aims to further strengthen HRD in Laos to support inclusive and sustainable socio-economic growth. LAI 4 also aims to advance Australia’s broader objectives by building leadership capacity, fostering people-to-people and institutional links, and strengthening Laos’ capacity to engage effectively in the Mekong sub-region, ASEAN and beyond, as outlined in the Laos-Australia Development Partnership Plan 2024-2029. It is anticipated that DFAT will approach the market in the first quarter of 2026. The proposed procurement will be advertised on AusTender.
