Evaluation advice

• ODE provided an update to the Committee on the status of current evaluations. The Committee acknowledged ODE's ongoing work on the following evaluations topics and provided useful feedback:
  • Contribution of Australia awards to women's leadership
  • Teacher development
  • Australia-Vietnam country strategy 2010-15
  • Child nutrition
  • A desk based review of donor experiences in Sector-wide approaches in the health sector
  • 2014 quality review of aid program performance reports
  • The Committee agreed to the following meeting schedule for 2015. The next IEC meetings will be held in August and December 2015.
• The Committee discussed first draft report of the ANCP evaluation and provided useful feedback.
• The Committee discussed first draft report on non-core funding to the Multilateral Development Banks evaluation and provided useful feedback.
• The Committee was updated on the status of ODE including the policy and forward workplan. The new ODE policy is expected to cover both its evaluation and performance assessment functions.
• The Committee noted the role of ODE in supporting operational evaluations.
• The Committee reviewed and provided comments on the terms of reference for the Review of Operational Evaluations.
• The Committee noted the concept notes presented on the three new upcoming ODE evaluations (Economic Infrastructure, Trade Policy & Regulation, Aid and Business engagement), and provided useful feedback.
• The Committee noted and provided comments on the Performance and quality analysis approach paper.
• The Committee noted and provided comments on the Investment level M&E review.
