154 Shaw to Department of External Affairs
Cablegram 447, TOKYO, 14 August 1948, 4.30 p.m.
Contents of your telegram 342 were telephoned to Jamieson this afternoon 14th August. I emphasized instructions to return to Tokyo as soon as possible. Jamieson said that the Commission this morning voted 4 to 2, India, Australia, against with Canada abstaining to consult Rhee in terms of his letter. The French delegate has now submitted a motion that the Commission should adjourn and meet elsewhere to consider reports.
