Summary of publication
This is the second quarterly report of the Vanuatu Australia Police Project to the Project Management Group.
The report notes that the project continued to meet the majority of its work plan targets; although land ownership and related disputes regarding construction stalled two planned police stations and delayed at least four police posts. The report states that if the problems are not resolved by 30 September 2011, it will not be possible for the project to commence and complete these building within the project timeframe. The report highlights continued progress in all other areas, including training and education, and provision and maintenance of assets. The report also includes: feedback from interviews with Vanuatu Police Force members regarding the Australian advisors; an expenditure review; and a monitoring report.
