Summary of publication

This review assesses how the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program (RWSSP) is addressing all of the Office of Development Effectiveness and Monitoring Review Group recommendations and how RWSSP is responding to Government of East Timor and Australia priorities. The review emphasises key sustainability issues in the context of RWSSP transitioning to a government-owned program. The review concludes that the pace and scale of the program has accelerated and if maintained, East Timor will meet the MDGs for rural water.
