This document assesses the performance and outcomes of the 2007–2010 bridging/transition phase of the Tertiary Health: Pacific Islands Project.
The completion report finds that the 2007–2010 bridging/transition phase of the Tertiary Health: Pacific Islands Project delivered all the projected services and activities within the stated budget and timeframe. Project outcomes included improved quality of life for thousands of patients who received specialised medical care. The report notes that the project was effective in health workforce development, evidenced by increasing skills and confidence of surgeons, trainees and health specialists to diagnose and treat a growing range of medical conditions. The report provides detailed quantitative and qualitative information on project activities and achievements in eleven Pacific Island Countries, including Fiji.
