This document describes planned interventions and management arrangements to implement the Pacific Framework for the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases.

The framework is for the World Health Organization and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community to build capacity of Pacific countries to:

  • profile non-communicable risk factors and disease prevalence in each Pacific country
  • prepare national plans and strategies
  • implement programs
  • evaluate and improve performance.

Proposed activities cover environmental interventions, lifestyle interventions, clinical services, surveillance, and advocacy in 22 countries 2008 to 2013.
