Summary of publication
This Quality at Entry report rates the objectives, monitoring framework, sustainability, implementation and risk management, and analysis and lessons for the Greater Mekong Subregion Trade and Transport Facilitation Program. It reviews the design of the Australian aid program's contribution to the ADB's GMS Trade and Transport Facilitation project.
The report rates the proposed initiative as being of adequate quality and identifies areas for improvement in monitoring and evaluation indicators and staffing. It also highlights the need to maintain awareness of similar trade and transport facilitation activities being undertaken by wider regional groupings such as ASEAN.
The importance of ongoing engagement by the department to monitor gender and social impacts of increased trade and transport are noted. Actions identified during the QAE process are detailed to indicate feedback was incorporated in the design.
