Study of knowledge needs and supply constraints for gender research in Indonesia's knowledge sector

Summary of publication

This study assesses circumstances and interactions between supply and demand for knowledge, research, data and analyses on gender in various regions in Indonesia. Recommendations include developing a consciousness that all institutions are 'knowledge institutions', strengthening universities in producing gender study experts, and strengthening institutional commitment and capacity of governments to carry out gender mainstreaming. Also provided are recommendations on how AusAID can strengthen the knowledge-to-policy cycle focusing on gender issues.
