Summary of publication
This Aid Program Performance Report (APPR) outlines the objectives of the Australian Government's bilateral aid program to Samoa as articulated in the Samoa Aid Investment Plan 2015-16 to 2018-19 and the Australia-Samoa Aid Partnership Arrangement 2016-19. It assesses progress towards these objectives from July 2016 to June 2017 and provides recommendations for improving program performance going forward.
Total Australian aid to Samoa in 2016-17 was $35.8 million, including 23.6 million in bilateral assistance. Australia continues to use the Government of Samoa to deliver the majority of its development assistance and maintains a strong working relationship with Samoa on development and other issues.
