Description
This report describes Geneva Call's progress in 2011 in engaging armed Non-State Actors in five Asian countries–Afghanistan, Burma/Myanmar, India, Pakistan and the Philippines–to reduce the threat and socioeconomic impact of landmines.
The report also covers AusAID funded work by Geneva Call in other thematic areas, such as child protection, sexual violence and the promotion of international humanitarian norms.
In addition to country programs, the report also includes sections on training tools produced, monitoring and evaluation, and financial management, as well as an overview of changes planned for 2012.
Note: 'Non-State Actors' are 'organised armed entities that are primarily motivated by political goals, operate outside effective State control, and lack the legal capacity to become party to relevant international treaties'.)
