This is the annual report for 2012 for the Women's Refugee Commission initiative 'Promoting access and inclusion for displaced persons with disabilities'.

Description

This is the first annual report for the initiative 'Promoting access and inclusion for displaced persons with disabilities', which is managed by the Women's Refugee Commission. This initiative promotes changes in humanitarian policy and practice that will improve access and inclusion for conflict-affected displaced persons with disabilities, particularly the most vulnerable - women, children and girls.

The Annual Report highlights key activities undertaken in the year, particularly work to achieve the initiatives key objectives:

  1. pilot change in practice
  2. build the capacity of local disabled people's organisations in target countries
  3. assist UNHCR with the roll-out of its global disability guidance
  4. analyse, document and share lessons learned
  5. advocate for change globally.
