Pacific Regional and Agricultural Market Access Program Newsletter (Volume 1, February 2012)

Summary

This document is the first six-monthly newsletter for the Pacific Horticultural and Agricultural Market Access Program.

Description

The newsletter summarises Pacific Horticultural and Agricultural Market Access Program activities during the first year of implementation. It explains what the program is, how it works and recent highlights in each of the five PHAMA countries, and at the Secretariat of the Pacific Community's Biosecurity and Trade Support Team (BATS). One of the events highlighted is a consultation between the biosecurity authorities of Australia and Fiji about Australia's quarantine and biosecurity requirements (e.g. for fresh-fruit sampling and for transport of papaya exports to Australia)–the first such discussions in more than five years.
