Myanmar Education Consortium (MEC): Mid-term review and management response
Summary of publication
An independent mid-term review of MEC was finalised in February 2015. It found that MEC was largely on track or exceeding its targets in providing education to children in hard-to-reach and conflict-affected areas in Myanmar. The review also identified that, in order to continue delivering on its objectives in a rapidly evolving environment, MEC needed to focus its efforts where it could have the greatest impact and strengthen program governance and management. As a result of the evaluation, Australia has supported the reshaping of the program to focus on increasing access to education for children outside Myanmar's formal education system.
