Summary of publication
The Annual Report 2009 provides background, progress and forward program and budget for the Pacific Human Resources for Health Alliance as at 30 November 2009.
2009 activities included:
- health workforce mapping and data collection in 15 countries
- review of Pacific Code of Practice for health workers
- a Pacific Health Vacancy Board to advertise health vacancies and receive applications
- quarterly newsletter published
- collaboration with Pacific health institutions to link training and skills to health workforce needs.
Activities planned for 2010 included:
- country level human resource needs analyses and a Pacific Islands toolkit for health resource planning
- implementation of education and training for nurses and midwives in the Pacific.
