Summary of publication
The Health Sector Strategy explains Vanuatu's health sector objectives and constraints. It guides government and development partners to improve Vanuatu's health services. It says reducing maternal and infant mortality rates is a priority, through combined efforts to reduce specific causes of illness and death. It aims to improve primary care services, supported by adequate hospital services and effective systems to supply drugs where and when they are needed. The Strategy commits the Ministry of Health to strengthen planning and budgeting, improve efficiency, manage human resources better and deliver better quality services.
