Summary of publication
This document is an update on progress of the Market Development Facility in the first six months, updated annual 2011-12 work plan and detailed plan for January to June 2012. The document notes:
- during the first six months the contractor established management arrangements and procedures for finance, operations, fraud prevention, security, risk management and procurement
- there was further work to recruit and manage staff
- the Independent Advisory Group reviewed the facility's plans and management arrangements and was satisfied overall
- the advisory group requested action to address:
- pressures on the facility to expand too far, too fast
- proper resourcing of the core program team and country implementation teams
- communication between the department and the facility managers
- approval procedures.
The report outlines steps to address these and other issues in the next six months.
