Summary of publication
The report and financial acquittal for the grant for Disaster Preparedness and Awareness Programmes of the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) of Fiji lists training provided on disaster management, damage assessment and risk reduction for leaders and communities throughout Fiji.
The funds were also used to:
- observe national disaster awareness week in Northern Division
- install Ba flood early warning system [gauges] in Togo, Nalotawa and Koro
- provide disaster preparedness and response information, including contact details for district emergency operation centres, in Fiji telephone directories
- produce a 30-second disaster preparedness program to be played during the cyclone season.
