Summary of publication
This concept note outlines considerations for DFAT as it moves towards designing the second stage (2012–2015) of the Development Assistance Facility for Afghanistan (DAFA).
DAFA is the Australian Government's mechanism to provide bilateral support to the reconstruction of Afghanistan.
The goal of DAFA 2012–2015 will be: 'Afghanistan is developing the human capacity required to achieve its economic and social development goals'.
This concept note presents a mid-term review of DAFA 2009–2012 and sets out the objectives and shape of DAFA 2012–2015.
It proposes that the main focus of the DAFA be on scholarships and Malaysia-Australia Education Program for Afghanistan 3 (MAEPA).
