GFDRR administers several trust funds to which AusAID contributes, for mainstreaming disaster risk reduction in developing countries and to provide support to low-income countries in early post-disaster recovery. (2004, 16pp)

Description

AusAID provides core and non-core funding to GFDRR to mainstream disaster risk reduction in developing countries, and provide support to low income countries in early post-disaster recovery.

GFDRR is a partnership of 41 countries and 8 international organisations, managed by the World Bank, committed to helping developing countries reduce their vulnerability to natural hazards and adapt to climate change.

AusAID and GFDRR exchange letters of agreement signed by both parties before each contribution is made.
