Australian Development Scholarships in Vietnam—Mid Term Review 2011

Summary

Contains the findings and recommendations of an independent evaluation study of the project conducted by a team of consultants.

Description

The Review undertaken in April 2011 assessed the Australian Development Scholarship Program as on track to enhance Vietnam's professional, technical and leadership skills through delivering up to 250 post-graduate scholarships per year. Key achievements of the pilot phase (2009-2010) included streamlining program administration, reducing the length of time between submitting an application and taking up a scholarship in Australia by six months and continued comprehensive pre-departure and alumni support. The report recommended that the scholarships program give more consideration to intended development outcomes and concentrate more effort in priority areas.
