Mr Glenn Miles
Biography
Mr Miles is a senior career officer at DFAT with extensive experience in the Middle East and Pacific, most recently serving as Australia’s Ambassador to Egypt, Sudan and Eritrea. Prior to this role Mr Miles served as Australia’s Ambassador to Lebanon (January 2015 to August 2018); Australia’s Ambassador to Kuwait (January 2008 to November 2011); Australia’s Representative in Ramallah (2003-2006); Deputy Head of Mission, Amman (2000-2003); and as part of the mission opening team to Iraq (2003). Mr Miles has also served as Acting High Commissioner to Fiji (2012-2014) and as a member of the Peace Monitoring Group in Bougainville, Papua New Guinea (2000). In Canberra, Mr Miles has worked in the Europe, Middle East and International Security Divisions. Mr Miles is a graduate from Deakin University and speaks Arabic.
