Mr George Mina
Biography
Mr Mina is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and was most recently First Assistant Secretary, Consular and Crisis Management Division. He has previously served overseas as Deputy Head of Mission in Paris and Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Australia to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); with the Australian Permanent Mission to the WTO, Geneva; and in Egypt. In Canberra he served as First Assistant Secretary, Office of Trade Negotiations; Head of Australia’s campaign for the United Nations Human Rights Council; Assistant Secretary, Trade Policy Branch; and Assistant Secretary, Services and Intellectual Property Branch.
Mr Mina holds a Master of Arts (International Relations) from the Australian National University; and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours, Economics) from the University of Melbourne, and he speaks French.
