Pacific Lead Economist (DFAT-1074)

DFAT has approached the market for a Contractor to take on the role of DFATs Pacific Lead Economist in the Office of the Pacific (OTP).

The Pacific Lead Economist will provide dedicated analysis and advice on economic and debt issues in the Pacific to build an improved and sustained understanding of each across OTP and Pacific Island Country Posts, in close collaboration with the Office of the Chief Economist (OCE), and whole of government partners, including the Department of Treasury, Department of Defence, the Office of National Intelligence and the Department of Prime Minister of Cabinet. The analysis will inform DFAT’s economic programs in the Pacific, investment lending decisions and assist Australia’s contribution to economic resilience in the Pacific, mitigation of economic risks and effective responses to economic challenges as they emerge. This will require using detailed, up-to-date evidence both quantitative and qualitative, and an understanding of the Pacific region.

The approach to market will be through a one-step procurement process. The proposed procurement is published on the AusTender website.
