DFAT anticipates approaching the market for a managing contractor to implement a new DFAT-led investment on climate resilient agriculture – the Laos-Australia Agriculture Resilience Initiative (LAARI).
The LAARI program aims to improve smallholder farmers’ income, nutrition, and livelihood through climate resilience agriculture practices that seek to enhance gender equality, disability and social inclusion. It also aims to strengthen Australia’s broader ambitions for a prosperous, climate-and disaster resilient and stable Laos, as outlined in the Laos-Australia Development Partnership Plan 2024-2029. DFAT plans to commence the program in 2026. The proposed procurement will be advertised on Austender.
