DFAT intends to approach the market for a partner to implement the Development Economics and Finance Technical Assistance Program (DEF-TAP). DEF-TAP is a proposed new six year initiative that will provide a cadre of specialist development economic and finance advisory support, including short- and long-term advisers. Through working with DFAT posts, desks, thematic areas, and Indo-Pacific partners, DEF-TAP will contribute to the region’s economic growth ambitions, expanding access to quality development finance, deepening Australia’s economic and development finance partnerships, and strengthening the resilience of partner economies.
It is anticipated that DFAT will approach the market in the second quarter of 2026. The proposed procurement will be published on AusTender and updates on the status of the procurement can be found on the Development Procurement Pipeline.
