Investment Design: Law and Justice support in PNG
The Governments of PNG and Australia have worked collaboratively to develop a new investment in support of PNG's law and justice sector. The new investment will support PNG's efforts to meet its goal of a 'just, safe and secure society for all' and builds on more than 10 years of Australian support. It has been developed in the context of complementary Australian Government support to agencies within the PNG law and justice sector through the Australian Federal Police and the Attorney-General's Department and under Australia's new Development Policy.
The finalised investment design responds to a number of relevant evaluations and lessons and seeks to foster improvements in security and justice as experienced by people, families and communities in an initial six target provinces and the Autonomous Region of Bougainville. The investment will also continue selective support to the core state law and justice agencies to deliver improved justice and security to the women and men of PNG.
Attached is a final investment design. The tender process is expected to commence in early April 2015.
