Australia and WTO Dispute Settlement
On 27 March 1996, Argentina, Australia, Canada, New
Zealand, Thailand and the United States sought consultations with Hungary.� Japan and Uruguay joined the consultations
as third parties.� On 9 January 1997,
Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and the United States requested the
establishment of a panel.� A mutually
agreed solution, involving a time-limited waiver, was notified in July 1997 as
an alternative to panel processes
