Ninth Round of Negotiations, 21-23 September 2015

The ninth round of Australia-India Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) negotiations took place in New Delhi on 21-23 September 2015. Both sides agreed on the importance of making progress towards a balanced and mutually beneficial agreement.

The ninth round covered key issues, including market access for goods, services and investment and chapters on goods, services, investment, rules of origin, customs procedures and trade facilitation, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, technical barriers to trade, legal and institutional matters and dispute settlement.

Both sides agreed on the possibility of scheduling the tenth round in mid or late November, with dates to be set at a mutually convenient time.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade encourages interested parties to lodge or update submissions on the Australia-India Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement.
