Australia and Vietnam each have an important role to play in international efforts to combat climate change. Australia will support Vietnam’s locally-led inclusive approaches to climate change adaptation and mitigation especially in the Mekong Delta.

Australia will continue supporting Vietnam to strengthen the human resources required to achieve its development objectives. 

Australia will support Vietnam’s efforts to become a modern, competitive economy by 2045 by enhancing private sector development, productivity and competitiveness and strengthening Vietnam’s innovation and digital capacity. 

The SKALA Investment Design Document outlines the strategic intent, rationale, and implementation approach for the SKALA program, which aims to support Indonesia in reducing poverty and inequality by improving basic service delivery, particularly in less-developed regions. 

A New Roadmap for Australia's Economic Engagement with India outlines how the Government intends to seize the opportunity that our relationship with India presents.

The purpose of the mid-term review (MTR) was to assess the program's performance and progress towards its objectives, and to identify areas for improvement. The MTR provided a list of recommendations and lessons for the remainder of the program.

The Government has established a new Southeast Asia-Australia Government-to-Government Partnerships program (SEAG2G).

Today marks four years since the Myanmar military regime overthrew the democratically elected government in Myanmar, creating one of the largest crises in the Indo-Pacific. 

We are deeply concerned by the worsening human rights and humanitarian crisis across Myanmar.  This crisis is exacerbated by the escalation of violence, as well as intercommunal tension. The regime’s ongoing and violent repression of the people of Myanmar is unacceptable.

The Australian Government’s response to the Senate Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade References Committee report, Funding for public research into foreign policy issues, was tabled in Parliament on 5 December 2024. The response agrees with 4 recommendations, agrees in-principle with 2 recommendations and notes 2 recommendations. The Government recognises and appreciates the work of the Committee.
