Australia thanks the core group for its work on draft resolution L.25 and for its open and consultative approach to negotiations.

We thank the core group for this resolution which highlights the critical importance of freedom of expression and of a free, independent, plural and diverse media, online as well as offline.

Australia is pleased to be a member of the cross-regional core-group for the resolution.

Australia cannot accept amendment L.64 because it undermines the right of the child to meaningfully participate in decision making processes in matters affecting them.

Australia will join consensus on this text in recognition of the spirit behind the resolution.
