Development assistance

This document is the Head Agreement between the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the University of Birmingham for the Developmental Leadership Program Phase III (2019- 2022). 

SARIC is an Australian Government funded $32 million initiative that started implementation in early 2020.

This review was commissioned to assess the effectiveness of Australia’s support for peace in Muslim Mindanao under the Peacebuilding in Conflict-Affected Mindanao investment and its ongoing appropriateness in the current political context.

DFAT anticipates undertaking a procurement process to establish a panel of specialists for the South Asia Water Security Initiative.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade produced development program Progress Reports for the major countries and regions in which Australia provided international development assistance under Partnerships for Recovery. Annual Progress Reports detailed progress in implementing country and regional COVID-19 Response Plans. The reports provide a summary of program achievements and progress against performance indicators.

The Independent Review of the ASEAN-Australia Development Cooperation Program Phase II (AADCP II, AUD57 million, 2009-21) aimed to provide DFAT with information to enable and inform strategic decision-making regarding the direction of the current program and possible future programming. The review also considered the partnership approach, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and program logic for AADCP II. 

On 1 January 2020, Cook Islands graduated from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's List of Official Development Assistance Recipients.
