PNG to improve its approach to infrastructure planning, procurement, financing and delivery. It focuses on a range of sectors including energy, telecommunications, water, health and education. The objective of the program is to improve the prioritisation, quality, and sustainability of infrastructure investment in PNG.

The independent midterm review of the first four-year phase of ESIP assessed the performance and quality of ESIP as of May 2022. The midterm review report presents the review findings and recommendations for future directions for ESIP. The management response outlines DFAT’s position on those recommendations.
